Hyundai confirm the all new Electrified Kona SUV will be released for sale in Australia this year
At the launch of Hyundai’s new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Nexo, Scott Narger – Hyundai Australia’s manager of future mobility and government relations announced that the Kona EV will be on sale here later this year. He went on to say “We think the time is right to introduce this kind of technology to consumers.”
The only problem is the popularity of Electric Vehicles in the rest of the world as the Hyudai Ioniq was previously due to be released here before now but keeps being put back due to demand in Europe and Asia.
The All-New Kona Electric will feature two different powertrain versions offering customers one of the most powerful electric engines on the market with a class leading range of almost 470 kilometers. The Kona EV will offer a wide range of convenience and connectivity features as well as active safety and driving assistance technologies but still have a “fun-to-drive” character.
